Sushi Salad!
Okay. Back to lunch. Haven't had this for a while; it's a staple. But given there are soooo many different types of salads to eat, I rotate my staples; as well as continuing to discover and create new ones. So, sometimes my staples get pushed back to make room for new ones. Let's face it, salad is SUCH a generic term. We could literally choose a different one each day of the year, for years!
Here I've got:
- Massive quantities of yummy greens under all those other goodies
- Spicy spiralized carrots (I did a bunch of them the other day to use all week in various ways). I often just use shredded ones. (there is no right or wrong way!)
- Red pepper sliced
- Red cabbage shredded
- Kirbys sliced in match sticks
- Edamame! LOVE the texture, it closely mimics Avocado which I had none of. Additionally, I can just pop some out of the freezer, all good to go.
- In the past I've used slivered mango!
- And of course surimi seafood sticks "crab flavor"
These are all staple basic ingredients which are really easy to pull together.
I eat company worthy food in large quantities every single day, every and each. And THAT my friends are the key "ingredients" (pun intended I believe) that most "plans" don't address (do any?? hmmm). But I sure do! Losing weight? Feh. I'm not interested in merely that! It's gotta be permanent weight loss. Permanent, healthy, delicious, enjoyable; food I can serve my ENTIRE family and my guests. Oh and it must be - EASY. EASY. No struggles, no battles, no mustering up strength and will power. It's gotta glide! And fly! So that we can soar!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who's got time to waste energy "sticking" to a plan?
- Keep your stomach filled to CAPACITY. CAPACITY. To the point where you literally feel - filled. Not that you're no longer hungry. That is NOT the intention. It's that you are FILLED, your STOMACH. Eat large QUANTITIES of QUALITY food
- CHEW, a LOT - babies need to suck, adults need to chew (for realz).
- Make it DELICIOUS. Eat foods (3x a day) that you would, could and SHOULD serve to company. You will not do this on boring bland so so mediocre food long term.
I dressed this beauty in seconds:
- Sprinkled on lots of ginger powder
- splashed in some soy sauce
- a bit of white vinegar (you can use rice vinegar)
- poured in a pea-sized amount of sesame oil (go easy, not merely calorie wise, but taste wise, it's very strong stuff)
- a hit of siracha and that's it.
Now go eat! More. No more!! Enjoy!
